From 26 to 29 October 2025, idd cologne will debut its inaugural edition, transforming Cologne into a hub for contemporary interior design. In line with its decentralised concept, the trade fair offers a rich programme of talks, guided tours, and partner events, providing both industry professionals and design enthusiasts with forums for networking, inspiration, and convivial gatherings.

"We're looking ahead to the inaugural edition of idd cologne with great anticipation," said Maik Fischer, the trade fair's director. "Together with our partners, we are creating a premium event that will fill Cologne with international design, inspiring formats and a vibrant exchange of ideas. idd cologne is conceived as an open forum for everyone with an interest in contemporary home lifestyles and interior decor – a get-together for the design scene and a place that is devoted to ideas, conversations and celebrating the community feeling."

Event highlights include the Architonic Talks, hosted by DAAily Editor-in-Chief Simon Keane-Cowell, presenting new concepts and individual approaches by leading creatives at Design Post Köln and Stoff-Pavillon Moeller. Dutch architect Jeroen Steenvoorden will open with "Form Follows Material," exploring the creative power of materials. Swiss designer This Weber will discuss durability and lasting stylistic impact in "Tough Love: Durability and Passion." London's 2LG Studio, Jordan Cluroe and Russell Whitehead, will present "Well, Well: The Comfort of Spaces," emphasising colour as a tool for expressive design. Zurich-based Mia Kepenek concludes with "The Silent Luxury," addressing evolving expectations of younger audiences in branded environments.

Urban Design Walks, led by interior design expert Petra Linn, offer guided tours of exhibitions, showrooms, and interior stores, combining insight into trends with practical networking opportunities.

Partner events across Cologne will enhance the experience. Bretz and SCHÖNER WOHNEN celebrate anniversaries, exploring tradition, passion, and innovation. Becker Interior hosts a Gin Tonic Night, denisoberender pairs architect talks with whisky and wine tasting, bulthaup smow stages a design sale, and Jan Kath welcomes visitors to a champagne breakfast with a string quartet. Biomöbel Genske presents a Culinary Kitchen Day, a family festival, and a Team 7 exhibition of "Smoked Oak."

Together, these events create a city-wide route of inspiration, highlighting the breadth of high-end interior design and fostering dialogue between professionals and enthusiasts.

Registration and free tickets are available at www.idd-cologne.com/en/events. Visitors are
